Early Childhood Music
Traditional nursery rhymes and chants are used as a stimulus for sensory and creative play through activities involving movement, singing and percussion playing. Children take turns to play the drum, wood block, xylophone and glockenspiel and are supported by the active involvement of their parents.
The program offers ample opportunities to sing, move, play, keep the beat, read stories, listen, share and co-operate together with children both older and younger.Classes of children of mixed- ages strengthens the learning environment and enriches opportunities for skill and concept development at all stages.Parents are guided in ways to create a nurturing, supportive environment to encourage happy, joyful learning through music. Daily listening at home to the Class recording (“Lullabies, Action Songs and Rhymes” sung by Taryn Fiebig) supports learning in this way.Classes not only prepare children to learn an instrument, but also develop a strong foundation for all learning experiences. Children gain social and musical skills, and good abilities in listening, memory, concentration, language, creativity, self-confidence and independence.
